Step 5) Class materials

All class materials will be shipped via USPS/FedEX to the address you entered during the registration process.  You will receive the final e-mail reminder about the class a few days before the class starts.

*Registration deadline

The registration deadline is April 3, 2020.  You will still be able to register later than April 3rd if there are any available seats, however, there will be no guarantees to receive the class materials by the first session.

*Cancellation deadline

For a full refund, please send us an e-mail by Aril 10, 2020.  After the deadline, we cannot refund your registration fee.

Rules and Policies

1. Cancellation and Refund

Cancellation and refund requests must be received by e-mail (jpcourse@jflalc.org) by the cancellation deadline in order to receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued after the deadline passes.  The cancellation deadline is about one week before the first meeting, which means, in principle, you cannot cancel the course once the course starts.

2. Changing Courses

You may change a course while seats are available before the cancellation deadline.  You must contact us via e-mail before the cancellation deadline.  No course changes will be allowed after the deadline passes.

3. Changes by JFLA

The Japan Foundation, Los Angeles (JFLA), may cancel courses when necessary. Applicants will be notified in advance and receive refunds.  The course contents are subject to change.

4. Cancellations by JFLA

JFLA may change a scheduled class due to an unforeseen circumstance.  In such a case, we will schedule a make-up class for the following week.

5. Course Availability

All courses are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration for each course will close once it is filled to capacity.

6. Late Registration

After the first class has been held, you may not enroll in the course.

7. Self-assessment

To choose a course, read each course description.  Download a self-check and an assessment test to see if the course is suitable for you.  We might consult with you based on your self-check list and assessment test answers if necessary in order to help the assessment.

8. Transfer Courses

You cannot transfer the course you registered to another course after the cancellation deadline and after the first class starts.

9. Make-up Class

You are responsible for any miss lessons. There are no make-up classes or refunds if you miss class. However, you can attend a make-up session in the same week, once out of nine meetings, at our other days of the week (e.g. Thursday) with the approval of the instructor in advance. We will provide to you the materials for the class you missed, but do not offer private tutoring.

10. Waiting List

Once the class becomes full, applicants can be placed on a waiting list.  If space  becomes available, applicants will be enrolled in the class.  If space does not become available after the cancellation deadline, JFLA will refund 100% of your payment.
