1. Cancellation and Refund
Cancellation and refund requests must be received by e-mail (jpcourse@jflalc.org) by the cancellation deadline in order to receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued after the deadline passes. The cancellation deadline is about one week before the first meeting, which means, in principle, you cannot cancel the course once the course starts.
2. Changing Courses
Before the cancellation deadline, you may change a course you have applied for, if there is still room in the course. You may change a course via e-mail or telephone. However, no course changes will be allowed after the deadline passes.
3. Changes by JFLA
The Japan Foundation, Los Angeles (JFLA), may cancel courses when necessary. Applicants will be notified in advance and receive refunds. The course contents are subject to change.
4. Cancellations by JFLA
JFLA may change a scheduled class due to an unforeseen circumstance. In such a case, we will schedule a make-up class for the following week.
5. Course Availability
All courses are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration for each course will close once it is filled to capacity.
6. Late Registration
After the first class has been held, you may not enroll in the course.
7. Self-assessment
To choose a course, read each course description. Download a self-check and an assessment test to see if the course is suitable for you. We might consult with you based on your self-check list and assessment test answers if necessary in order to help the assessment.
8. Transfer Courses
You cannot transfer the course you registered to another course after the cancellation deadline and after the first class starts.
9. Make-up Classe
You are responsible for your absence. There are no make-up classes or refunds if you miss class. We will provide you the materials for the class you missed, but do not offer private tutoring.
10. Waiting List
Once the class becomes full, applicants can be placed on a waiting list. If space becomes available, applicants will be enrolled in the class. If space does not become available after the cancellation deadline, JFLA will refund 100% of your payment.
