The Los Angeles Office supports Japanese language education all across the United States. We organize events to nurture future leaders in the Japanese language teaching community and develop goods to promote the learning of Japanese and foreign language in general. 2012-2013 Programs
Designed to aid teachers in Japanese Educational programs, The Japan Foundation, Los Angeles brings support and professional development to those instructors that feel they need to improve their educational program in their schools. Our Japanese Language Education Programs also encourage teachers to advocate for Japanese language education in the US, and provide them with useful information for their advocacy activities.
JET-MIP/J-LEAP
Here you will find information on special programs that were conducted by JFLA. Some of these are new programs for 2011 including JET-MIP and J-LEAP, and some have been ongoing annual programs such as the leadership workshop, and the group tour program for educators.
Promoting Japanese (Advocacy)
Promoting Japanese is an important part of any Japanese language teacher. It is important to incorporate this as part of your work in order to show others what you are doing. We encourage you to look through the information in our Advocacy Kit and Supplemental DVD to find out how other foreign language teachers are advocating for their program.
