This page details special programs relating to Japanese language education that are organized by the Los Angeles office.

JET-MIP

In 2011, we organized two new programs to further enhance the ties between Japan and the United States. The inaugural JET Memorial Invitation Porgram for U.S. High School students was created in honor of Ms. Taylor Anderson and Mr. Montgomery Dickson who lost their lives during the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami of March, 2011. They were serving as cultural Ambassadors representing the United States.

J-LEAP (Japanese Language Education Assistants Program)

This program brings Japanese Language teaching assistants to the U.S. K-12 educational institutions to strengthen their Japanese language programs as well as creating opportunities to nurture a new generation of qualifies teachers of Japanese language. The program has begun in 2011 and is jointly administrated by The Japan Foundation and The Laurasian Institution.
