on: Seeking Japanese Coaches and Teachers for 2016-17 hiring needs.
Selected coaches will be eligible to start working with students in Fall 2016. This part-time work is done based on your scheduled availability and pairing it with student schedules.  All work with students is completed online.  Each student is assigned both a teacher and coach to work with during the term.  Coaches work with a small group of students twice a week for 45 minutes.
Coaches with bachelor’s degree can become a NC Licensed Teacher through NCVPS. NCVPS has the ability to help applicants with that process. The Teacher in Training process will train potential teachers on not only the expectations of teachers but also how to teach online. Teachers in Training must be willing and available to work each weekday during the entire session for two hours.  We can never promise that you will have a section; all sections are based on enrollment numbers, but we do prepare all of the teachers we bring into the pool as if they will have a section. Selected applicants would be in our Teacher in Training Program for the Fall 2016.  If this process is completed successfully, coaches/teachers would be eligible to teach during the Spring 2017.
Application Deadline: If you wish to begin the process for consideration for a coaching or teaching position, please submit the following via email to Ellen Hart, NCVPS Instructional Director (ellen.hart@ncpublicschools.gov):
    • Teacher References Form
    • Current Resume
    • NC Teacher License (Only send if you are applying for a teaching position. Coaching positions do not require teaching licenses.)
Since teachers in training and coaches will be working directly with students, we will require one trip to Raleigh, North Carolina to complete some paperwork and fingerprinting in person.  If travel to NC is an issue please contact Ellen Hart at ellen.hart@ncpublicschools.gov to discuss possible options based on your location.
