Set Regional
Options for Windows XP |

Click on the Start menu and click
on Control Panel. |

Click on Date, Time, Language and Regional Options
icon. |

(3)
Click on Regional and Language Options. |
|
(4)
Click on Languages (second tab from right). |
|
(5)
Click on the check box of "Install files for East Asian
languages" in Supplemental language support
(second section). |

(6)
You will be asked to be sure of installing files for East Asian
languages. Click on OK. (If you are asked to insert
Windows XP CD-ROM, do so and follow the directions.) |

You will be asked if you want to restart now. Click on Yes
and restart the computer. |

Wait until the computer is restarted. |
| |
(9)
Repeat 1 through 4 to reach Regional and Language Options.
Now, "Install files for East Asian languages"
is checked. |

(10)Click
on Advanced (right most tab). |

(11)
Select Japanese for Language for non-Unicode programs
(first section). |

The Dialog box (Advanced) pops up. Click on OK. |
|
(13)
The Dialog box (Change Regional Options) will ask
you to restart your computer. Click on OK and restart
the computer. |

(14)
Look for an EN or JP symbol in
the task bar on the desktop. Click on it, and you will find two
IME options, EN for English and JP for Japanese. If JP is not checked,
click on it and get it checked to change the input mode from English
to Japanese. |
