2.1 Type A (Windows NT4.0/95/98/ME + Office 2000 Users)

Please follow the following procedures.
1: Download Global IME 5.02 Installer
2: Install Global IME 5.02

1. Download Global IME 5.02 Installer at:
http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/iebuild/ime5_win32/en/ime5_win32.htm
 
Step 1-a
(1) Select "Microsoft Global IME 5.02 for Japanese - with Language
Pack" for Choose and Option.
 
(2) Select "English" for Select Language.
 
(3) Click on the Next button.

Step 1-b
(4) Click on the Next button.
 
(5) A dialogue box pops up and you will be asked where you want to open the file or save it. Click on the Save button and select a folder where you want to save the Global IME installer, and then click on OK. (You may want to create a folder titled as "Temporal" to save Global IME installer under the My Document folder.)
It might take 30 minutes or more depending on how fast your Internet connections.

 

2. Install Global IME 5.02
 
(1) Find Global IME 5.02 installer (JAMONDO.exe) you downloaded. (Don't forget where you installed it when you downloaded it!)
 
(2) Double click on the installer icon.
 
(3) Installation is automatically done and you will be asked to restart the computer. Click on the Restart button.
 
(4) Look for an EN or JP symbol in the task bar on the desktop. Click on it, and you will find two IME options, EN for English and JP for Japanese. If JP is not checked, click on it and get it checked to change the input mode from English to Japanese.
(You can also switch between EN and JP by pressing the Shift and Alt keys.)
 
(5) When the Japanese Global IME is selected, you can switch between Japanese and English input modes by pressing the Alt and tilde (~) keys.

EN vs. JP
When EN is selected: English input only
When JP is selected: Both English and Japanese input
 
Shortcut Keys
Shift and Alt keys: switch between EN and JP
Alt and tilde (~) keys: switch between English and Japanese under JP
