| 著作権について About copyright | |
日本でも米国でも教育目的利用の際に著作権の権利が制限される場合があるということはよく知られていますが、教育目的の利用であればいつでも無条件で著作権侵害の例外が適用できるというわけではありません。ここでは、特に日本人一般向けに作られた動画（ドラマや映画など）を教室で使用する際に気をつけなければならない点をいくつか紹介します。スペースの制限があるため、よくおこしがちな過ちだけをとりあげますが、著作権に関する情報はこれだけではありません。もっと詳しく知りたい方は、後述の参考文献を読んでくださいね。 It is widely known that copyright protection can be limited when using materials for educational purposes in Japan and the United States. However, the exemption from copyright infringement is not always applied unconditionally to all educational uses. This section introduces some points that bear special consideration when using videos made for the general Japanese audience (such as dramas and movies) in class. Due to space limitations, only common situations are discussed here. Additional information is available, and if you would like to learn more about copyright, please refer to the resources listed at the end of this section. |

（１） 授業に必要な部分だけを見せる
Show only the section needed to teach the class： 授業に関係のない部分まで全て見せるのはよくありません。例えば映画のほんの一部分を日本語のクラスの教材として使った際に授業とは関係のない他の部分も全て見せてしまうのは教育目的の利用とはいえません。 It is inappropriate to show parts of material not related to teaching. For instance, if you show parts other than the section you are using as Japanese language teaching material, it is not considered an educational use. |

| （２） 自分が教えている学習者だけを対象に授業内で動画を見せる
Show videos within class hours to students you teach： 日本語の教室の中でクラスに登録している学習者を対象に見せましょう。ビデオやDVDなどの動画を製作者や著作権保有者の許可無くインターネットで配信して不特定多数の人が見られるようにしてはいけません。 Videos should be shown only during class hours to students who have registered for the class. Showing videos or DVDs to the general public through online distribution without obtaining permission from producers and copyright holders is prohibited. |

| （３） 自分が正規に入手した動画を使う Use
videos that you obtained legitimately： 教室で使用する動画は自分で購入したものや図書館から借りたもの、オリジナルのものなど正規に入手したものを使いましょう。同僚からもらったコピーはその作品の著作権者からそのように許可を得ていない限り使わないほうが賢明です。 Videos used in class must be those you purchased yourself or borrowed from libraries, or originals you acquired legitimately. It is inadvisable to use copies received from colleagues unless you have permission from copyright holders. |

| （４）著作権所有者の不利益にならないように使う
Use videos without damaging copyright holders： 教育目的利用であればどのような使い方をしてもよいというわけではありません。映画などの売り上げに悪影響を及ぼしたり、コマーシャルをその企業や商品のイメージダウンにつながるような形で使ったりするのはやめましょう。 All uses are not necessarily acceptable even when the purpose is education. Avoid use of videos in a manner that could negatively impact the sales of movies or damage the images of companies and products in TVCMs. |
