Making Sushi in japanese: Setsubun

Let's celebrate Setsubun, Japanese traditional festivity, by making special sushi, Eho-maki !  We will throw soybeans to chase out demons and eat sushi in the traditional way to bring in good fortune.  All through, you will learn Japanese vocabulary and basic expressions as well as Japanese culture, while making sushi through the instruction of a professional chef of Sushi Chef Institute (www.sushischool.net). No prior Japanese learning experience necessary.  Seats are limited, so please register now!

*Setsubun: The day before the beginning of spring (Feb. 3).  It is associated with the Lunar New Year.

        Eho-maki (Shrimp, Imitation crab, Egg, Shiitake mushroom, Cucumber, Avocado, Kanpyo, Seaweed)
        Mini Eho-maki (Imitation crab, Cucumber, Kanpyo, Soybean sheet )
        Temari sushi (Shrimp)
        Nigiri sushi (Salmon and Maguro Tuna)

1) Please click the registration link above, fill it out and submit.  You will receive a confirmation e-mail for your registration.
2) Mail your payment check within a week after registering or by January 25.  You will receive a confirmation e-mail for your payment.  Your registration may be cancelled if the payment is not received by January 25. 

Registration will close once all the seats are filled (waiting list available).  Please call us or e-mail us at jpcourse@jflalc.org after the registration is closed.

Rules and Policies

1. Cancellation and Refund

Cancellation and refund requests must be received by e-mail (jpcourse@jflalc.org) by January 25 in order to receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued after the deadline.

2. Changes by JFLA

The Japan Foundation, Los Angeles (JFLA) may change the scheduled workshop due to unforeseen circumstances.  The workshop contents are subject to change. 

3. Cancellations by JFLA

JFLA may cancel the workshop when necessary. Applicants will be notified in advance and receive refunds.

4. Course Availability

The workshop is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration for the workshop will close once it is filled to capacity.

5. Waiting List

Once the workshop becomes full, applicants can be placed on a waiting list. If space becomes available, applicants will be enrolled in the workshop.
